Chronic Fatigue Reduced by 33 Percent in 8 Weeks
NT Factor (in Propax with NT Factor) significantly reduced severe fatigue in an open-label study of 34 men and women between the ages of 33 and 79. The Piper Fatigue Scale was used as a measure, with a scale of 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest) to rate degrees of fatigue, defined as "an unusual sense of tiredness that is not usually relieved by either a good night’s sleep or by rest."

At the outset, the minimum score for each participant was at least 6, indicating severe fatigue. For the group overall, the mean score at the outset was 7.9. Among participants: 7 people had experienced fatigue for more than a month; another 17 people experienced fatigue lasting more than a year; 24 people were taking prescription medications for a range of conditions, including those for depression, asthma and allergies, seizures, inflammatory conditions, low thyroid, hypertension, pain, gastrointestinal problems and hormone replacement. Other medical conditions among study participants included anemia, spinal cord injury, narcolepsy, glaucoma, fibromyalgia, candida and restless leg syndrome. One woman was pregnant.

After 4 weeks of using the nutritional supplement, the mean fatigue score for the group decreased to 6.1, and after eight weeks, it decreased further to 4.7, which is defined as moderate fatigue. At the end of the study, the lowest score among participants was 1.5, which is classified as mild fatigue.

Overall, women improved by 35 percent and men improved by 29 percent. Fatigue in the group as a whole decreased by 33 percent. There was no association between age and the degree of fatigue reduction.
